What are Smencils and how are they made?

*We roll sheets of newspaper tightly around the #2 graphite writing cores until pencils of typical thickness are formed. The rolled pencils are then hardened - allowing them to be sharpened just like wood pencils. You can even see the layers caused by the newsprint:
  • Because newspaper is an absorbent material, the pencils are soaked with our gourmet liquid scents (made by an award winning fragrance company) which absorb into the layers of newspaper.
  • Once they've dried, the erasers are applied along with the stickers identifying which scent was infused into each Smencil.
  • Then, each Smencil is put into its own Freshness Tube (we guarantee the scents will last for at least 2 years - in or out of the tubes)
Choose whether you want lead or coloured smencils and which scent/s you would like.
